Pathways
We beleive there are many pathways to knowledge and skils attainment.
Although there are many ways to obtain competency in a certain domain, we see two main pathways that exist.
- Single knowledge gap only
- A proven pathway that leads to an expertise body of knowledge
There is no single right way, but we truly beleive the following components make up a pathway; theoretical knowledge, practical experience, situational awareness, demonstration and communciation.
Pathways and individual badges
Pathways are string of courses that will give you enough knowledge that we deem you to be an expert.Pathways consist of four badges, foundations, intermediate, advanced and expert.
Our definition of an expert:
- Part A. “An expert is a highly qualified individual with deep knowledge and extensive experience in a specific cybersecurity or AI domain. They possess advanced theoretical and practical skills, often holding a Master’s degree or Ph.D. and having 10+ years of experience”
- Part B. “Experts at Cyber Camp can serve as expert witnesses in legal proceedings, where they can be cross-examined by the legal jurisdiction and questioned by another expert. They can also participate in peer-reviewing processes, evaluating the work of others in their field.”
- Part C. “Experts have added to human knowledge by publishing articles that can serve the community to secure its residents”.

Individual badges and the skills gap
Individual badges fulfill a certain skills or knowledge gap that may be hard to find adequate training resources.
These badges are designed to fulfill a certain skillset that is needed in the ever evolving landscape.
For example many Australian cyber security roles expect you have experience and knowledge in Australian cyber security compliance frameworks but in reality these frameworks are not taught in Universities, or technical colleges such as TAFE. They are rarely formally taught at work, and therefore exists a lack of relevant training resources.
